The brief: a site that shows all of his work, follows a precise art direction and looks like no other designer's portfolio.

This portfolio had to reflect Hugo's image, and also stand out visually and technically. In graphic design, competition is strong and every detail can matter.

Since the site had to stand out technically, we had to go further than simple animation timings on a few hovers. That meant thinking up original, creative mechanics that, above all, made sense within the overall idea.

The project was built with React. I quickly brought in GSAP to handle every scroll event.
Then performance quickly became a question.
That is when I added Lottie to show a loading screen.
To make content moderation easier, I chose Firebase's headless CMS, FireCMS.
